The High Lands

Chiriqui is the province that has borders with Costa Rica. Depending your your location, so is the amount of time it will take you to reach this amazing town. If you are in Chiriqui already, then this is a trivial thing to do, if you are in Panama City however, there are a few options. If you are among the ones that like the see the country and what it has to offer, you can enjoy a 6 hours tip from Panama City, over to Chiriqui. Being a small country, you will see the huge difference between the city, and once you are traveling through the country side. You will find many restaurants along the way, if you want to stop to grab a meal, the roads are in perfect conditions. If, in the other hand, you dont like driving, or you already know the country and still want to visit, you can always take a plane to David, Chiriqui, then from there, the drive is only one and a half hours away. Once in Chiriqui, even though getting there is pretty straight forward, we strongly suggest the use of a GPS positioning application such as Waze or Google Maps. The destination is exactly that: Cerro Punta, Chiriqui. David is the City if Chiriqui, from David to Cerro Punta, the drive is about 1 and a half hours. While driving there, the view is spectacular, lots of mountains and lots of green, as well as a little "mirador" (lookout point) where you can hang out for awhile, while you enjoy the best collection of locally made, home-produced food and drinks.
