Monkey Island

The Monkey Island Tours.
You are recommended to be ready to part at the dock at 8:00 AM in Gamboa.
Gamboa is approximately at about 30 minutes from Panama City. Rio Chagres (the Chagres river) is the place where you will part from.

This tours is an “animal tours”. Not just monkeys, crocodiles, birds and 3 classes of monkeys.

The trip takes about 20 minutes, from the moment you board the boat, to the moment you arrive at “monkey island”.

Make sure you take your DSLR camera or any other camera with you, you will need it.

It is important to note,  visitors will remain in the boat at all times, no visitors are allowed into the island, in order to avoid  direct interference with their natural habitats. Visitors will experience seeing 3 type of monkeys: (Cariblancos, Mono Titi and Ahuyadores), among many other species such as many types of birds, iguanas and crocodiles.

People normally bring treats for monkeys, so that they come close to the boats however, there are a few catches.

People bring food ONLY to “cariblancos and Titi monkeys” as they are the most friendly ones. Howling monkeys are not so friendly.
